The Texas Longhorns are headed to the Big 12 title game for the first time since 2009.
Their title trip was set up by a 24-17 triumph at Kansas this afternoon in Lawrence, Kan.
The Longhorns (9-3) will play the winner of the West Virginia-Oklahoma game next Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
West Virginia claimed an earlier 42-41 triumph over the Longhorns in Austin on Nov. 3. The Mountaineers’ game-winning score game after Will Grier’s game-winning two-point conversion with 16 seconds left.
Texas defeated Oklahoma, 48-45, at the Cotton Bowl on Oct. 6.
A potential rematch would be the first time that the Longhorns and Sooners have played twice in the same season since 1903. They have met annually since 1929.
