Due to all the rain these past few weeks, the grass is growing like crazy in our area, bringing along the mosquitoes.
All of this is a big concern for people living in the Sinton Housing Authority; they say their yards are being neglected.
One neighbor tells us the grass was not mowed in October. In some parts of the complex, the grass is a couple feet high.
They say it’s become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
“Last night, Halloween, we were out here but we had to go in cause the mosquitoes were really bad,” says a concerned neighbor.
Instead of waiting for management, one resident decided to mow his yard, but that is not an option for most of the people living there.
“It’s disabled and elderly that live out here and they can’t do it. I mean that’s why housing supposed to come and do it,” says a concerned neighbor.
KZTV reached out to the Sinton Housing Authority. They say several days of rain prevented their crews from cutting the grass, but crews will be out there this weekend.
