We begin with a Troubleshooters report about a family that recently moved to Corpus Christi, and is already having contractor troubles.
They paid a guy to do some tile work at their brand new home.
But the day the Cruz family opened the door to their brand new southside home, “we walked in the door and we went holy cow ! So we called him and we said, hey, you gonna come fix this ? This looks really bad,” Juan Cruz told the Troubleshooters.

He’s talking about the marble he paid Rick Castellanos of Rick’s Tile to lay at the entrance to his house.
It wasn’t done to Cruz’s satisfaction.
And he paid Castellanos $7000.00 to do it.
“But if you come around here. Look at what he did here,” Cruz pointed out. “Looks like he didn’t know what he was doing. And that looks bad.”

The Cruz’s were moving to Corpus Christ from out of state, and were primarily communicating with Castellanos long distance.
Cruz says he called us because of what he considers to be bad work done by Rick’s Tile.
And he wants Castellanos to come back and fix it or give him a refund.
“I just wanna make sure this guy doesn’t do it to anybody anymore,” he told us.

The Troubleshooters contacted Rick Castellanos of Rick’s Tile by phone.
“Andybody can tell you anything they want,” he told us about Cruz’s comments. “Would that go for you as well ? I gotta ask ya. Anybody can. Exactly.”
Castellanos further told us, referring to the work done at the cruz’s house, good help is hard to find.
“Everybody calls you and they can tell you, oh yeah, I’ve done this and I’ve done that, and you leave them somewhere, and that’s the kind of stuff you get.”

So this is how we left it with the Cruz’s and Castellanos.
He promises to be back in a week and a half to make this right.
