Two people were killed in a single vehicle accident near Alice early Sunday morning.
The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. Oct. 14 on U.S. Highway 281, nine miles north of Alice.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 59-year-old Daniel Munoz and 59-year-old Maria A. Trujillo, both from Mercedes, Texas, were killed when their Chevrolet Tahoe veered off the roadway and hit a guardrail.
Munoz and Trujillo were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
A third person in the vehicle was transported by Halo Flight to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital.
DPS says the accident remains under investigation.
