Facebook employees are testing a new dating app before it’s released to the public. Pictures what the app looks like were shared on social media by a tech reviewer. Instead of being a stand-alone app to directly compete with other dating apps, it will be an added feature to appear alongside other Facebook categories like Marketplace. Facebook says the feature was designed for those looking for a serious relationship rather than a quick hook-up.
“If it’s got a profile behind it that you could kinda check out sounds like you can vet it out a little better,” said a Facebook user.
The platform also allows users to control what others see guaranteeing that dating profiles will be kept separate and private from Facebook friends.
