Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home will soon be opening a time capsule buried in 1996. The purpose was to commemorate a new era of service beginning in 1993. Seaside allowed people to share items that were important to them.
“Items were from that time period, things that were going on events,” says manager Jon Laskie.
The capsule was to be opened exactly 25 years later on August 18, 2018. Which is in two weeks.
“A mystery to us, a mystery to them,” says Laskie.
Current workers are anxiously waiting, curious to know what’s inside. Since they have no details of the items or even the size of the capsule.
Seaside will host a ceremony, Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 10 am. Their location is 4357 Ocean Dr. The public is invited and if you have family members who placed items you will be able to collect them.
