As high pressure intensifies overhead, temperatures will soar above average. The warmest temperature recorded at Corpus Christi International Airport so far in 2018 is 96 degrees. We may rival that mark by the end of the week or the weekend.

Tuesday’s forecast

Expect Tuesday to be pretty similar to Monday. There may be a little less haze in the sky as the African Dust begins to move on, but beyond that, we’ll be in for a repeat. Highs will be in the low 90s in Corpus Christi and feels like temperatures will be well over 100 degrees again.

The rest of the week

If you’re needing a cool down, things don’t look good. High pressure is going to continue to strengthen its influence on us through the end of the week.Temperatures will continue to climb into the mid-90s for Corpus Christi and the upper 90s to over 100 degrees inland. The heat index will still climb to near, if not over, 110 degrees.

No rain is in the forecast, which will be great for the Youth Sailing World Championship.
