Corpus Christi Police are working an accident involving a pedestrian this morning.
It happened just before 4:00 this morning at Weber and South Padre Island Drive.
CCPD tells us that a man in his twenties, dressed in dark clothing, was walking the roadway near the intersection when he was hit by a Toyota Sequoia.
The driver of that SUV stayed on scene following the accident, as did a witness.
That driver was not issued a citation, as the pedestrian was wandering in the middle of the roadway, not on the crosswalk.
Police referred to the area as being poorly lit.
The pedestrian was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in stable condition, and is expected to make a full recovery.
