CORPUS CHRISTI – Every elementary school needs a playground event charter schools. And the Promesa College Prep School got one today thanks to several volunteers and a national beverage company.
Promesa College Prep School is where the old H-E-B on Baldwin near Morgan used to be years ago. Now the abandoned building will be a college preparatory school for kids in pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade.
The volunteers included some of the parents of kids and members of the Boston-based non-profit Ka-Boom.
The school received some funds for the playground from Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.
The new charter school opens in August.
