CORPUS CHRISTI – The Nueces County Medical Examiner has confirmed the identity of the man who died in a crash on Monday night. The crash happened on US-77 near Calallen.
Twenty-two-year-old Freddy Monreal drove the truck that drove off the overpass headed towards Labonte Park. He passed away, and a female passenger suffered injuries. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The ME reports that Monreal died from blunt force injuries.
Police continue to investigate what caused the accident.
They’ve spoken with two witnesses and say there is no visible damage to the railing of the overpass.
