One person died overnight after an accident at a local intersection.
Just after 2 a.m. A driver was speeding down Staples near McArdle when the driver went over the median while trying to take a curve. The vehicle side-swiped another vehicle, according to officers on scene.
"They side-swiped each other but at such a high rate of speed it was almost a head-on collision," Lt. Timothy Frazier with the Corpus Christi Police Department said. "The at-fault driver, unfortunately passed away, he was killed in the crash."
Two people in the other car had minor injuries. Officers do not believe that alcohol was a factor in this accident.
