BISHOP, TX – A hit-and-run crash has claimed the life of a Bishop police officer.
Pedro Vela was off-duty and riding his motorcycle in Brownsville on Sunday to see friends and family when he was struck. He died early this morning from his injuries.
He was a proud member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and a 2013 graduate of Brownsville Lopez High School where he played as a blocker on the field for the Lobos.
He was was 22 years old.
