Thieves have hit another industrial site on the city’s west side.
Around 7 a.m. Corpus Christi Police discovered Iris NDT on the 1000 block of North Padre Island Drive had been broken into.
According to CCPD, someone cut a lock on the gate and stole a truck with a portable X-ray unit mounted on the back.
Police say the truck was taken to a parking garage at La Palmera Mall, and the X-ray unit, which was too tall to clear the overhead, hit the structure and came off of the truck.
The X-ray unit was left behind in the parking garage, but the stolen truck has not been found.
Although police have not said the crimes are related, similar break-ins have occurred in this area recently.
On Monday, a company truck was also stolen from a business on Heinshon Road, and last week, approximately $60,000 worth of surveying equipment was stolen from another company on Hopkins Road.
