Showers and Thunderstorms in the Forecast

Posted

Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase on Friday and Saturday ahead of an approaching front. Unfortunately, this front won’t be doing much as far as cooling us down. It will, however, be bringing us drier air behind it. This will allow us sunshine and lower humidity for Sunday and into next week.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy. Our westernmost counties may even see some thunderstorms tonight! These storms will be developing in northern Mexico and moving northeast into Texas. They likely won’t make it up into Corpus Christi tonight. it will remain warm and humid with lows in the 70s. Conditions will remain breezy out of the SSE 10-20 MPH. Low of 75 for Corpus.

A frontal boundary will move towards our area on Friday. Rain chances and coverage will increase as this front approaches. Most of our area is under a marginal risk of severe weather for Friday. Rain chances will be higher after noon tomorrow… however… models show drier air closer to the coast. Rain chances will be higher away from the coast and showers and storms may struggle to reach the coast tomorrow. Some isolated showers and storms will still be possible closer to the coast. We will see mostly cloudy to overcast skies on Friday and SSE winds 10-20 MPH. High of 85 degrees.

Frontal boundary will move through Friday night. Rain chances will be highest ahead of its arrival. Expect scattered to numerous showers and storms for Friday night. Rain chances will be lower in our Eastern counties. Winds will lessen overnight into Saturday. Low of 71 degrees.

The front will continue moving South over our area on Saturday. Rain chances will diminish as it moves through. High pressure will move South behind the front bringing us more stable weather by Saturday afternoon. High of 78 degrees for Saturday.
