Three men in jail accused of Balchuck Lane murders

Three men are in custody accused of the murder of a couple during a home invasion on Balchuck Lane.  

According to the arrest affadavits, Trebor Wheeler, 18, Adrian Olivarez, 48, and Ausencio Acosta, Jr., 20, planned the robbery that occurred o April 2, 2018 which led to the shooting death of Arturo Lopez, Jr. and Miariam Flores Lopez.

Trebor Wheeler was arrested in Kileen, Texas on April 11th.  After his arrest, Wheeler made a statement that he was involved in the planning of the robbery with four men but did not enter the home with the other suspects.  After he was transported back to Nueces County, he gave a second statement that he did not tell the truth and that he did in fact enter the home but that Olivarez was the one who shot Arturo.  The men intended to rob the couple of hundreds of thousands of dollars and drugs.  

The deceased couple’s son gave a statement that he was in the home hiding in the shower when the robbers busted in.  He said they wore masks, gloves, and branded pistols.  He says he heard a loud crash and someone yelled, "CCPD! Get on the floor!"  He told investigators that he recognized one of the men as "Trebzz" by his hazel eyes and red tips on his hair.

The three men are charged with capital murder.and bail has been set at $1 million.  Prosecutors said they will seek the death penalty for Olivarez during a court hearing Tuesday and are considering the same for Wheeler and Acosta.

Police are looking for a fourth suspect.
