A fisherman in distress was rescued from a floating cabin in Baffin Bay, according to officials.
It happened Friday evening, according to U.S. Coast Guard in a press release. A helicopter crew from Station Corpus Christi was dispatched after Texas Parks and Wildlife reported a 79-year-old fisherman suffering from a back injury in rough waters.
The crew arrived to find the fisherman aboard a floating cabin in Baffin Bay while 34 mph winds swirled water to swells of around 3 feet.
Officials said the fisherman was recovered safely and taken to USCG’s Corpus Christi station for medical treatment.
