Next Front Arrives Overnight, Marginal Risk of Severe Weather

Posted

Scattered showers and storms will be possible overnight as our next front slides through. A few of these storms could become severe. Gusty northerly winds are expected after the front. Lows will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s overnight.

A few of the storms we are expecting with tonights front could be strong to severe. The greatest threats are large hail and damaging, gusty winds. However an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The best chances for severe weather tonight lie in our NE counties. Some storms could linger into Saturday morning. By lunchtime Saturday, however, we will be enjoying sunshine and comfortable temperatures in the 70s.

I also feel it is important to mention that we are expecting Critical Fire Danger Conditions on Saturday as a dry air and gusty winds behind our front will make for elevated fire weather conditions. Grass and brush fires could grow and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended on Saturday.

Pleasant weather and cool overnight lows are expected for the remainder of the weekend.
