Former long-time USS Lexington leader passes

Posted

Today, the staff at the USS Lexington are mourning the loss of their former leader of 20 years.  Rocco Montesano passed away early this morning.

The sixty-eight-year-old took over the reigns of the USS Lexington as Executive Director back in 1998.

Earlier this year he stepped down from that post after being diagnosed with cancer.

He’s credited with bringing in many technological enhancements to the floating museum over the last 20 years including wifi for interactive exhibits and a 3-D theater.

Today the flags at the USS Lexington were lowered to half mast in his memory.
