Traffic changes for Fiesta de la Flor

Posted

Fiesta de la Flor starts Friday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. and the city has begun making changes to traffic.

Phase one started Monday as Shoreline was shut down between Powers and Resaca.  Traffic was detoured down Powers Street.

Wednesday is phase two with more shut-downs in the plan, but they don’t affect businesses or your typical daily commute.

Friday, police will shut down two main roads, Water Street and Chaparral.  Chaparral will be a one-way from the event area and drivers will have to take Mesquite to leave the event area.

Thousands of people are expected to attend, so with all those drivers on the road, parking will be tight.

Police will use water barricades to keep people safe. The barriers will be in place to prevent cars from driving into areas of crowds of people.

Towing will be enforced, so your best bet is the park-and-ride. The pick-up locations will be the Courthouse and City Hall.
