ROCKPORT – People are starting to ask questions about the money raised to help with Hurricane Harvey recovery.

Back in September country music star George Strait raised more than $40 million during a benefit concert for storm relief.

One woman who’s been working with displaced storm victims ever since Harvey struck is concerned because she does not think much of the funding is making it’s way into the Rockport community.

"Being someone who’s been out in the community and working in the community every day since the hurricane hit, I can’t personally say I’ve seen that money benefit the people I’m working with, and they’re the ones who were most drastically hit by the hurricane. Accountability for where those funds went would be phenomenal," said Debra Honeycutt, Rockport resident.

Rockport’s mayor says the funds are being distributed by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.

The Rockport Center for the Arts recently received a $500,000 grant from that fund.

Honeycutt says that people are still living in tents and she hopes they see some of that money.
