Stripes will sell Selena collectible cups

Posted

Stripes, a founding sponsor of Fiesta de la Flor, will be selling limited edition Selena cups starting April 7th.  Starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, people can visit a store in Texas and Louisiana to purchase up to four cups for $2.99 each.

The convenience store chain made the big announcement through its social media pages early Monday morning, just two days following the 23rd anniversary of the Queen of Tejano’s death.

Stripes collaborated with Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, on the cup designs.  Two designs will be available; one will feature the same watercolor painting used as the logo for the annual Fiesta de la Flor  and the other is black and white with a close up of Selena’s face and her signature white rose.

The stores are expected to sell out quickly.

"Our customers are some of the most loyal Selena fans in the world and these cups are a unique way to show our support and love for Selena," said Greg Kirian, Director of Marketing for Stripes.

Cups will also be sold at the event on April 13th and 14th but only one cup will be sold to each person.

Portions of the proceeds will go to the Selena Foundation.
