No death penalty for man charged with murder of Breanna Wood

Posted

The death penalty has been removed from the table after a hearing for Christopher Gonzalez was held Monday morning.  Gonzalez is one of seven people being accused of involvement in the killing of Breanna Wood.

Gonzalez was indicted on three counts, including capital murder, murder and engaging in criminal activity in connection with the murder of Wood.  Wood was reported missing in October of 2015.  Her body was found in January 2017.

Judge Jack Pulcher appointed Hector Gonzalez and Luis Garcia as Gonzalez defense attorneys after Gonzalez stated he could not afford to hire an attorney on his own.

Gonzalez’ bond is set at $1 million.
