The frozen balls of cookie dough in Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream is arguably the best part of the frozen treat. Because people love it so much, Ben & Jerry’s even launched Snackable Dough in 2019. These safe-to-eat cookie dough bites are everything you love about the cookie dough chunks in the ice cream flavor, minus the ice cream.

Now, the brand hasreleased the recipe for its edible chocolate chip cookie dough so fans can make it at home. It will take just 15 minutes to come together and is sure to satisfy your craving for cookie dough goodness.

You can store the dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or in the freezer for up to six months. I have a feeling the dough wouldn’t last nearly that long in my house!

While eating raw cookie dough is generally discouraged due to the risk of contracting E. coli or salmonella from eating raw eggs, this cookie dough is completely safe to eat. The recipe is eggless and also features heat-treated flour, which helps kill contaminants that can cause illness.

One of the best ways to enjoy this indulgent snack is straight out of the bowl, but Ben & Jerry’s offers some other fun ideas as well.

Of course, you could add some dough balls to your favorite ice cream flavor. You can also use them as a base for cookie dough truffles, and they make great toppings for cakes, cupcakes, pancakes and waffles.

While you could bake the edible dough, that’s kind of missing the point of this treat. If traditional baked cookies are what you’re seeking, check out Ben & Jerry’s recipe for Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies.

These super-sized cookies make great vehicles for an ice cream sandwich and are perfect for chasing with a glass of cold milk.
