CORPUS CHRISTI –

Anime, comic, and superhero fans are invited to take part in this year’s Rec-Con event.

This is the third time the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department has hosted this gathering, which will take place Saturday, May 19th from Noon to 8:00 PM at Joe Garza Recreation Center (3204 Highland Avenue).

Entertainment will include OTB, Cinderella School of Dance, Corpus Christi Street Dance, a magic show by Val Dino, and more. Those who attend can try their hand in the card tournament, or test their skill among other gamers in the video tournaments, which will include Mario Smash Bros., Injustice 2 and Arms.

There will be a movie screening and workshops throughout the afternoon. The Corpus Christi Joker, the Sparkling City Heroes, Rozzmonster and others will all make guest appearances, and everyone is invited to dress up in their favorite cosplay or as an anime character and mingle with other fans in the community.

The convention fee is $3 and the event is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by adults to attend. While supplies last, a punch card will be given for freebies like popcorn, snow cones, and pizza.
