KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Patrick Mahomes finished 5 of 7 for 33 yards on two drives in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 17-10 loss to the Houston Texans in the preseason opener for both teams on Thursday night.

SAG HARBOR, N.Y. (AP) – NASCAR mogul Brian France was arrested in New York’s Hamptons for driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of oxycodone after he was seen blowing through a stop sign, police said.

Eagles fall to Jackrabbits at state tournament

Over 1500 supporters made the trek from the Coastal Bend to Round Rock in support of the Veteran’s Memorial baseball team. The Eagles took on the Forney Jackrabbits and it was a scoreless game until the 6th inning. In the end, the Eagles fell with a final score of 3-1. Action 10 News thanks them for a season full of memories. 

Vets baseball pep rally

It was a lively gathering at Cabaniss baseball field, held in honor of the Veteran’s Memorial baseball program. The Eagles defeated Kerrville Tivy over the weekend and punched their ticket to the 5A State Tournament in Round Rock. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm on the infamous Dell Diamond.   Cheer squads from across the CCISD school district showed up to support the teams accomplishments. Playoff baseball continued and Carroll stunned the Calallen Wildcats in game one of a three series that begun over at Cabaniss Field. The Tigers beat Calallen by one run with a final score of 2-1.
