Last defendant in border agent’s death gets 50-year sentence

Ismael Hernandez Vallejo was sentenced in a Texas court in Brownsville after pleading guilty Tuesday to murder in the death of agent Javier Vega Jr. He also pleaded guilty to attempted capital murder in the shooting of Vega’s father.

Feds raid Portland office of businessman Fred Rich

Agents with the IRS, FBI, Texas Dept. of Insurance, and Portland Police conducted an early morning raid of the office of Portland businessman Fred Rich. The raid was the result of a criminal investigation of Rich by the IRS and was done with a search warrant. Rich wasn’t at the office at the time of the riad, and no arrests have been made.
